Nautral Gas Swimming Pool Heaters
Natural gas heaters are a powerful pool heater option for warming up your pool quickly and efficiently. If your home runs on natural gas, you can use the same source to heat your pool. Like propane heaters, natural gas heaters do not rely on outside temperature or sun to deliver powerful heat, which means any weather can pool weather, well almost.
Natural gas pool heaters can use a millivolt or electronic ignition.
Millivolt means the pool heater has a pilot light that stays lit so it will always be ready to go. An electronic ignition lights the burner with a spark, just like with a gas kitchen oven. Both are good options, but an electric ignition has more pros in that it uses less fuel and reduces the chances of gas leaks.
A natural gas heater will cost around $300-$600 a month to run, depending on the size of your pool and price of fuel in your area. Natural gas heaters are typically cheaper than propane gas heaters and you won’t need to fill a separate propane tank.
